Ralphie is a beautiful blue brindle pittie mix puppy who is about 20 lbs at 3 months old.
Ralphie is a typical puppy, playful and fun. He has never met a stranger and is eager to greet everyone he meets on a walk or at home! Ralph is smart and inquisitive and will respond well to training! Unfortunately for him, Ralphie has lived in at least four different homes during his short life. While he has been welcomed and loved in each home, the constant change and different circumstances of each home have made Ralphie cautious about sharing, especially treats and food. Ralphie will do best in a home where he is the only dog and/or can be fed separately while his new owner is helping him learn he does not need to guard his food. He loves to play with other dogs but is definitely the rough-and-tumble type. Ralphie loves long walks and would be a great running companion when he’s older! Ralphie is especially playful in the evenings, so be ready to romp around 7pm! This sweet puppy is looking for the right person to help him channel his energy as he grows into a wonderful, loyal, happy dog. Hi, I’m Rammy!
I’m 5 months old and am a lab mix (maybe?). I am a handsome boy with my brindle coat, and I weigh right about 20 lbs. Everything is new to me and I’m learning all kinds of things! I’m very smart so I’m already potty trained and walk great on a leash. I like to play with toys but my favorite thing to do is snuggle up with a soft blanket. I also love to play with my dog friends, even ones that are much bigger than me. I can be shy at first, but I’m a huge cuddle bug once I get to know you. I can’t wait to meet my furever family! Hello, I’m Ol’ Sweet Lou, a friendly, laid back fellow and a tri-color beagle. My greatest joy is snoozing next to my person. I am great with my foster dog brothers and sister but also good by myself too. I LOVE food!! A little obsessed, I mean have you ever met a beagle who wasn’t? Since I was without it for a while, I can become a little fixated when it comes around to meal time with some beagle baying and excitement… AROO! I am quickly learning better table manners. The whole house thing seems new to me, so I have learned to potty #2 outside and working on not marking inside now that I’m neutered. Almost there. Otherwise enjoying all the comforts it has to bring. Did I mention I love to snooze next to my person? I sleep through the night right next to them on my comfy bed. I sometimes check on them during the night with a quick, sweet smooch and right back to my ZZZ’s. If you are looking for an easy going, old soul who will be your napping buddy and think you’re the greatest thing since sliced bread (mmm that sounds yummy…get it together Lou…eyes on the prize, your furever home) then I’m your guy. I will easily plug into your home and life. I'm estimated to be around 7-8 years of age.
Meet King, a pittie mix who was surrendered by a family struggling to cover their bills. According to the vet, he is about 9-weeks-old. He is still learning to potty train and crate train but has quickly learned to sit and come on command. King would do well in a family with an active lifestyle; he loves running in the backyard, rolling in the grass, playing tug of war, and playing with other dogs.
> Likes: slippers, chewing on sticks and cuddling next to other dogs > Dislikes: being left alone and baths Bobbie is a 3/4 month old miniature pinscher mix who traveled to the Carolinas all the way from Saint Croix. Bobbie is a spunky yet sweet boy. He is good about using potty pads when he can’t go outside, but he’s working on becoming fully housebroken. Bobbie is great with kids, cats and other dogs (big and small). Make him yours by completing an application!
What a gem this girl is! Pickles weighs less than 15lbs, but has plenty of personality. She is a Jack Russell mix and is around 2 years of age. She is a superior cuddle bug, a zoomies enthusiast, and steadfast friend to everyone she meets. Pickles came to us from a rural shelter in South Carolina where she was left alone with her seven newborn puppies. They are astoundingly all healthy and moving on to forever homes of their very own! Pickles is toddler approved and will make any new family the absolutely luckiest to bring her home. Ranch is an 8 week old Jack Russel mix from Mama Pickle’s “Condiments Litter”. All of the puppies are up to date on shots and vet care as age appropriate. You can find Ranch at the center of attention, this friendly boy wants nothing more than to play and be joyful.
Likes: Mid-day naps Tug-o-war Fluffy stuffed toys Running across the yard Dislikes: Rain Temperatures below 50 |

Meet Isla, a female Heeler mix named after sunny Isle of Palms in South Carolina. Isla is currently eight weeks old (as of 1/14/23). Of all the puppies in the litter, Isla has one of the most striking and gorgeous coats... and she knows it. If you Google “Heelers,” you will see images of dogs with the traditional dusty gray and black spotted coat with dark black and brown markings around the face and legs. Enter Isla. Her Heeler genetics seem undeniable. Anyone and everyone who meets her is struck by her distinctive markings. Give it another minute, and they’ll be captivated by her adorably sweet demeanor. Isla’s got a heart of gold. There’s not a naughty bone in this puppy’s body. Sure, she loves a good wrestling match with her siblings, and she’s not above pushing one of her many littermates out of the way for a better spot at the food bowl. But, all things considered, Isla’s sweet personality is how she’s able to win over so many hearts. Her unique combination of charm, sweetness, and strikingly cool looks can convince even those who are determined not to get another dog that they might just need one more pup in their pack. Just spend a couple of minutes with this one, and you’ll be sold. Trust us. Is she a good eater? You know it. A lover of all toys and treats? Oh, yes. A solid napper? Of course. Isla loves all people and dogs too. She has not met any cats in her day, but - since she’s still a puppy - she shouldn’t have any problems adjusting to a cat-friendly home. Because of Isla’s young age, she is not yet crate-trained or house-trained. She will need an informed and dedicated family who is committed to providing her with the time, energy, training, and patience for Isla to fully succeed. Isla will never cease to amaze. Are you ready to take a chance on this precious girl? Don’t wait to say YES!

Meet Pawley, a female heeler mix named after stunning Pawleys Island in South Carolina. Pawley is currently eight weeks old (on 1/14/23). Pawley is one of the two “runts” of the litter, but don’t let her small size fool you. Pawley is one tough cookie. Her resilient spirit never ceases to amaze! When Pawley arrived at her new foster parents’ house, she was half the size of most of the other puppies. It was clear that she didn’t feel well, and her foster mother worried that she wasn’t getting enough food and water to gain weight and fight whatever digestive issue she was experiencing. But Pawley’s foster mom was underestimating this little engine that could. Day by day, Pawley grew stronger and put on weight. Despite being only half her littermates' size, she was one of the first at the food bowl and would often wrestle her bigger siblings out of the way for the prime eating spot. Pawley slowly emerged from her shell. She began roughhousing with her siblings, occasionally even winning! She began jumping in on games of tug of war. She loved to be in the center of the action. Pawley had a lot of life in her, and it became clear that she was determined to thrive. While Pawley is still one of the smallest in the litter, her foster mother no longer worries that she’s not getting enough food or is being pushed around because it’s so clear that Pawley is endlessly determined and knows how to take care of herself. She’s scrappy and quick, but she’s also silly and loving. She sometimes gets annoyed when she feels like her foster mother is over-cuddling her - she’s a busy bee, after all - but she also never turns down a nap in someone’s arms… or pocket! That’s right - Pawley has actually taken a nap in a foster’s jacket pocket. Does it get any cuter? Pawley is now a perfectly healthy puppy. She has a lazy eye, but the vet has said that she simply needs to gain more strength in that eye as she gets older. Truthfully, Pawley is going to be an extraordinary dog for one very lucky family. She’s smart, curious, strong, resilient - both a fighter and a lover. Pawley is enchanted with all people and dogs. She has not met any cats in her day, but - since she’s still a puppy - she shouldn’t have any problems adjusting to a cat-friendly home. Because of Pawley’s young age, she is not yet crate-trained or house-trained. She will need an informed and dedicated family who is committed to providing her with the time, energy, training, and patience for Pawley to fully succeed. Pawley has been through a lot in her short life, but somehow she always ends up on top! She’s a little miracle and is ready for the next big adventure in her life. Are you ready to go on that adventure with Pawley? Don’t miss the chance to meet this exceptional little pup.

Meet Folly, a female Heeler mix named after the glittering waters of Folly Beach in South Carolina. Folly is currently eight weeks old. Folly is one of the two “runts” of the litter, but please don’t underestimate this sweet puppy. Folly has got personality for days and an even bigger heart. Folly was technically the smallest puppy upon arrival at her foster parents’ house, but - once she discovered wet dog food and puppy milk - Folly quickly joined the ranks of the mega-foodies. Unlike her other littermates, Folly is the only puppy (currently) whose ears point upwards in the traditional Heeler manner. One afternoon, she went down for her nap, and - when she awoke - her ears had gained a life of their own. To call Folly cute would be an understatement. Cute doesn’t even begin to describe this little one’s personality or appearance. She’s spunky. She’s fun. She loves to play. When she hears her foster mom coming with the next meal, she’ll sit Buddha-style at the edge of her pen, little paws outstretched as if asking for the bowl to be put directly in front of her. She loves to roughhouse, but also loves to cuddle. She loves to be held. She loves to stare into your eyes, just daring you not to fall in love with her. Folly might be small, but her power over people is mighty. She is also enchanted with other dogs. She has not met any cats in her day, but - since she’s still a puppy - she shouldn’t have any problems adjusting to a cat-friendly home. Because of Folly’s young age, she is not yet crate-trained or house-trained. She will need an informed and dedicated family who is committed to providing her with the time, energy, training, and patience for Folly to fully succeed. Folly deserves all of the love in the world and will be a dream companion for any lucky adopter. Are you ready to “Folly” in love with this amazing pup? Don’t wait! Schedule your meet-and-greet today!

Meet Royal, a female Heeler mix named after beautiful Port Royal Island in South Carolina. Royal is currently eight weeks old. Royal is the definition of a lover, not a fighter. Sometimes, Royal is fondly referred to as “the little space cadet,” lost in her daydreams about snacks and toys (presumably). Of course, there is one thing that will snap Ms. Royal out of her own little world, and that is food. Royal loves nothing more than a full belly. Royal was the second puppy and first female in the litter to break three pounds, an accomplishment that she is very proud of. When it’s time for her next meal, Royal will scamper around her littermates to find the perfect spot for maximum eating efficiency. The good news is that - because Ms. Royal is highly food motivated - it will likely make future training sessions all the easier. Anything for a kibble, according to Royal! What really defines Royal is her oh so gentle spirit. Of course, she loves to play with her siblings, but it’s simply not her style to get caught up in a puppy skirmish. Yes, she loves a good game of tug-of-war, but if it’s between battling her littermates for a toy or curling up for a nice, long nap, Royal will choose the latter. She’s perfectly content to do her own thing and often avoids being at the center of the action. Royal’s gentle soul is really something unique. Yes, there’s definitely a little spice mixed in, but mostly Royal is as sweet and calm as they come. Royal is friendly to all people and dogs. She has not met any cats in her day, but - since she’s still a puppy - she shouldn’t have any problems adjusting to a cat-friendly home. Of course, because of Royal’s young age, she is not yet crate-trained or house-trained. She will need an informed and dedicated family who is committed to providing her with the time, energy, training, and patience for Royal to fully succeed. This sweet girl is really something special. She’s never met a human or dog she didn’t like, and she’s got so much love to give. She deserves so much love and affection. Ready to meet this little queen? Don’t hesitate to schedule a meet-and-greet because this sweet pup is sure to be snapped up quickly.

Meet Helena, a female Heeler mix named after stunning Helena Island in South Carolina. Helena is currently eight weeks old as of 1/14/23. Helena has a big personality. Some might even consider her a bit of a diva, though only in the best sense of the word - think Barbra Streisand or Beyonce?. Helena knows what she wants, and she knows how to get it - with her cuteness and charm, of course! Helena is aware that she’s irresistible. Just look at her gorgeous cream-colored coat with coffee-speckling. How about her gorgeous black spots? Did you notice the beauty mark on her cheek à la Marilyn Monroe? Helena is a natural born leader. She might not be the biggest of the bunch - though she’s getting there - but she loves to be at the heart of it all. If there’s a puppy roughhousing session, you can bet Helena will be in the middle of it. If dinner is served, it’ll only take a moment for Helena to be paws deep in the biggest bowl of kibble. Helena’s big personality can only be matched by her huge heart. This girl has got so much love to give. At her core, Helena is just looking for that special someone to shower with love, loyalty, and endless puppy kisses. Helena is friendly to all people and dogs. She has not met any cats in her day, but - since she’s still a puppy - she shouldn’t have any problems adjusting to a cat-friendly home. Of course, because of Helena’s young age, she is not yet crate-trained or house-trained. She will need an informed and dedicated family who is committed to providing her with the time, energy, training, and patience for Helena to fully succeed. With time and attention, Helena will no doubt step into the spotlight as the truly extraordinary dog she was always destined to be. Of course, Helena knows how to share the spotlight too, but if you are as cute and precocious as Helena, why would you want to? Ready to meet this little star in the making? She promises not to disappoint, only to dazzle.

Meet Sullivan, a male Heeler mix named after sunny Sullivan’s Island in South Carolina. Sullivan turned eight weeks old on 1/14/23. At almost double many of his littermates’ size, Sullivan is a tank and the natural born leader of the litter. But don’t let his size fool you. This sweet boy is definitely a gentle giant and prefers to mind his own business… except when it comes to one thing: food. Sullivan, or “Sully”, is a total foodie. As soon as the next bowl of kibble hits the puppy pad, Sullivan is first in line to fill up his belly. Being highly food-motivated will definitely help with training as Sullivan grows up. But Sullivan is more than just his healthy appetite and protruding belly - he’s a sweet-natured boy who loves to play with toys and roughhouse with his littermates. He’s the quintessential puppy. If you were to look up “puppy” in the dictionary, it wouldn’t surprise us to see a picture of Sullivan next to that definition. Overall, Sullivan is a very laid back boy who will be an extraordinary companion for one very lucky family. He’ll provide endless love and lots of laughs due to his food-motivated escapades. Sullivan is friendly to all people and dogs. He has not met any cats in his day, but - since he’s still a puppy - he shouldn’t have any problems adjusting to a cat-friendly home. Because of Sullivan’s young age, he is not yet crate-trained or house-trained. He will need an informed and dedicated family who is committed to providing him with the time, energy, training, and patience for Sullivan to fully succeed. With time and attention, Sullivan will no doubt be the best friend that any dog lover could ever wish for. Ready to meet this handsome hunk? Don’t wait! With a face like Sullivan’s, he is sure to be snapped up quickly.

Meet Seabrook, a female Heeler mix named after stunning Seabrook Island in South Carolina. Seabrook is currently eight weeks old as of 1/14/23. When it comes to cuteness, Seabrook might just take the cake. Perhaps it’s her adorable coat - chocolate brown with patches of “blue,” white, and light brown? Maybe it’s her perfectly round face that’s oh so slightly reminiscent of the most adorable bobblehead you’ve ever seen? Or maybe it’s her personality - playful, curious, silly, and loving? Seabrook has that wow factor. Virtually every person she’s ever encountered has vowed to make her theirs, but only now is Seabrook old enough to leave the litter and forge a path all her own. Seabrook is one of the more laidback puppies of the litter. Like the sandy beaches of South Carolina, she generally likes to go with the flow. Live and let live is her motto. Seabrook understands that the way to get what you want is to simply kill ‘em with cuteness. You’ll never catch her in the middle of a puppy skirmish. Rather, Seabrook will be watching from the outside of the pile, gnawing on the very toy that inspired the tizzy to begin with. Seabrook is a simply amazing little puppy who is sure to bring so much love, joy, and laughter to the lucky family that adopts her. She loves all people and dogs. She has not met any cats in her day, but - since she’s still a puppy - she shouldn’t have any problems adjusting to a cat-friendly home. Of course, because of Seabrook’s young age, she is not yet crate-trained or house-trained. She will need an informed and dedicated family who is committed to providing her with the time, energy, training, and patience for Seabrook to fully succeed. This puppy is truly one-of-a-kind. She couldn’t be more ready to live her best life with her forever family. If that’s you, don’t wait to meet the lovely Seabrook. Puppies like her don’t come around everyday!

Haley is a loveable, energetic 8-month-old pup who loves snuggling on the couch or playing with other dogs. She is very loyal and protective in her foster home and seems to attach herself more toward the ladies of the home. She is potty trained and usually sleeps with her foster mom at night, but she is crated when mom leaves the house. Haley is very much still a puppy and loves playing and chewing on her toys and running around in the back yard. This sweet, timid soul really aims to please and tries very hard to be a good pup. She attends doggy daycare to continue her socialization and to work out her energy. She gets along with absolutely all dogs! Haley will be a perfect companion with anyone willing to dedicate the time and patience to adjust to her new home.

In honor of one of the sweetest movies ever made, we have chosen to name this group of puppies "The Sound of Music Litter". This little gal is Marta. She is a heeler mix puppy weighing approximately 6 pounds. She is 6 weeks old and is meeting all her developmental milestones. This litter as well as the momma were surrendered to one of our partner shelters in rural, South Carolina when the puppies were just two weeks old. Our rescue quickly removed them from the shelter environment and placed them in a loving foster family where they have been thriving and receiving the very best in early puppy socialization. They have been exposed to the normal family life sights and sounds such as humans talking, hearing music, hearing the vacuum running, door bell ringing and people coming and going. These little things might sound so simple but they are absolutely vital for normal puppy development. Marta is absolutely precious and loves being snuggled by the foster family's children. She is learning to play with her siblings and likes to sleep with stuffed animals near by. She is learning to potty on a pee pad and doing quite well. With her puppy teeth arriving, she has transitioned from mom's milk to a softened puppy food mixture. She loves to gobble it up. She's a cutie for sure!

She loves sleeping near a stuffed animal so we're always providing a clean set of "cuddle babies" for her to snuggle against. Like her litter mates, she is also active after eating but then quickly falls asleep. She is learning to potty on a pee pad and doing quite well. In honor of one of the sweetest movies ever made, we have chosen to name this group of puppies "The Sound of Music Litter". Von Trapp or Trapp for short is one of 3 male puppies in the litter. He is a heeler mix puppy weighing approximately 6 pounds. He is 6 weeks old and is meeting all of his developmental milestones. Von Trapp has the darkest coloring of the litter. Maybe it's because he's so manly and the captain of the group. Ha ha! This litter as well as the momma were surrendered to one of our partner shelters in rural, South Carolina when the puppies were just two weeks old. Our rescue quickly removed them from the shelter environment and placed them in a loving foster family where they have been thriving and receiving the very best in early puppy socialization. With his puppy teeth arriving, he has transitioned from mom's milk to a softened puppy food mixture. H

Gigi is estimated to be an 8-10-year-old lab/chow mix. Her foster mom, who works at the shelter where Gigi originally found herself, fell in love with her immediately. Gigi is the perfect size (just under 50 lbs), with a sweet disposition. She is quiet and very easy going too. Unfortunately the fact that she was older, and heartworm positive in an overcrowded shelter put her at risk which is how she ended up with us. Gigi is a very stoic dog. She loves attention but is not needy. She's not necessarily a cuddly dog, but she will let you pet and kiss her all day. She does not ever attempt to get on furniture or the bed. She prefers dog beds on the floor. Gigi has arthritis in her back legs, so sometimes she slips on hardwood floors, but this doesn't keep her from her evening "zoomies" around the house. She has a bit of trouble with stairs, particularly going up them. Gigi is housebroken. She is afraid of storms and, while crate trained, she does not enjoy her crate. Gigi is both dog and cat friendly, and she loves to go for walks. She would be perfect for someone looking for a very sweet, laid back companion. Please consider this older gal as your next family addition!

Meet Hotch! He is around 7 months old. He is currently in the house with another dog and a cat. Hotch and his feline foster sister tend to avoid each other but he loves playing with other dogs. He also has a huge love for chew toys. Hotch is crate trained and has yet to have an accident in his crate while his fosters are at work. He is still working hard on potty training outside of his crate. Hotch has a goofy and fun personality. He would thrive in a house with a fenced backyard where he can run and play or a household who will keep him active. Hotch is very friendly and loves being with his people. He will make a great addition to any family.

Hi! My name is Doodle! I just graduated from basic obedience and my foster is a professional dog trainer! I got so lucky. She loves me a lot and I get to hang out with dogs all the time. Some of them are great. Some are a little rowdy, but she’s really good at letting me meet new friends I’ll have the most fun with, the ones who won’t jump in my face. I don’t like that. I don’t remember how I ended up at the shelter a few years ago, but Halfway There Rescue came through one day and they found me a really nice family where I lived the last few years. But recently I started to worry because something was off. My happy family seemed sad. Everyone’s mood was changing. There were a lot of tears because someone was sick. They cried when they dropped me off at a different shelter. I know it must have been bad. I don’t think they wanted to leave me. The very next day Halfway There was at the shelter looking for me! At my foster’s house I get to go on adventures and learn all kinds of things. My good girl manners are really coming along. My favorite reward is human attention—it makes me so happy! There aren’t any small children at my house, but I see them at the park and I love the way they scratch my head. Speaking of, those head scratches are the best. I really lean in for those. Anyway, I’d love to meet you. I’m really hoping my next family will be my last. But until then, I’m loved and well taken care of and I’ll keep learning how to be the bestest girl ever. That way when you meet me you’ll want to take me home!
Love, Doodle |

Meet Dodger Blue! He is a 7-month-old sweet, baby boy who has come a very long way. Dodger was found on the side of the road with his sister. Both had prolapsed rectums. Halfway There Rescue jumped in to save their lives with emergency surgery. Recovery was ruff and there was a lot of uncertainty about what their futures would look like. He has made leaps and bounds. While in recovery, Dodger has become crate and potty trained, but he does experience leaks from time to time. Dodger loves his foster-dog sister and his two foster-cat sisters. He loves nothing more than cuddles, scratches, chasing balls, and walks. He has been good with our neighbors' children and runs to the fence to see them when they are outside so he can get some extra love. He is finally learning to be a puppy after a difficult first 6 months of life. He cannot wait to cuddle with his furever family!

Sandy haired with a sparkly personality. Ruby is an older adult with puppy energy. She likes to play with toys and LOVES to chase balls. She’s great on a leash, crate trained, a perfect car rider. When she’s not playing, she loves to snuggle, which is fantastic because she’s so soft and cuddly. She needs a calm house without small kids. She is anxious around other dogs; she would be best as a solo doggo. She requires careful handling when it’s necessary to pick her up. Hopefully her confidence will build as she learns to trust new people.

Mary Jane is a three year old husky mix who, if she could speak, would have quite a story to tell. At a little less than a year old, Mary Jane got loose at the home of her family, while living outside, and was hit by a car. Her previous owners came home to find her pulling herself, by her front paws, back to the house while dragging the back half of her body. While her owners decided the “humane” thing to do would be to “put her out of her misery”, a Halfway There volunteer intervened immediately and raced her to the emergency vet. That decision would literally save Mary Jane’s life.
After being initially diagnosed with a broken leg and fractured pelvis, Mary Jane underwent surgery and was brought into a loving foster home to recuperate. After being in foster care a short time, it was realized that Mary Jane was showing some concerning signs that her injury may be more severe than initially diagnosed. She had not regained proper bladder and bowel control, and after a week was not yet up and walking. After another thorough exam and full body xrays (emergency vet had only taken partial images), a much more severe injury was revealed. Mary Jane had sustained a broken back and significant nerve damage when she had been hit by the car. Her future uncertain, Mary Jane’s foster family was determined to not give up on her and support her recovery. They believed that with faith, love, and patience, Mary Jane would have a good quality of life and be able to be considered healthy and adoptable. Mary Jane’s foster family continued to provide the love and care she needed to recover, and after several more weeks it was a true miracle that Mary Jane was able to walk again. As a matter of fact, two years after she has come into foster care, Mary Jane has regained the ability to run, jump, and play just like every other dog. Aside from a slight limp, this little lady is the life of the party. She loves playing tug of war with toys and running around the yard with her foster siblings. Mary Jane enjoys going to the dog park, and she has truly never met a stranger. Even the kitties in her current foster home give her “two paws up.” Although Mary Jane’s recovery has been remarkable, she has not regained control of her bowels or bladder. To compensate for this, Mary Jane does need to wear diapers. She doesn’t mind at all though, and is patient and trusting of everyone, making her condition relatively easy to manage. After more than two years in foster care, Mary Jane is looking to find her perfect forever family. She is a sweet and loving soul, who longs to be with people and truly appreciates every moment of life she has been given. Although she is adored and loved by the entire Halfway There family, it is our dream that Mary Jane will find her own home, complete with people who understand her needs and just how special she truly is. |
